Willie “Junior” Herbert Morgan Jr., age 87, of Rutledge, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. He was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he was the song leader and a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Morgan; parents, Hazel and Willie Morgan Sr.; siblings, Donald Morgan, Thelma Taylor, Sarah Williams, Shirley Shelton. He is survived by his children, Glenda Morgan of the Home, Vicki (Garry) Duck, Patricia Morgan, Teresa Ellington, Tracy (Jeff) Akard; grandchildren, Benji Proffitt, Travis “Mooder” (Alicia) Proffitt, Matthew (Crystal) Duck, Adam (Jenna) Morgan, Andy (Jessie) Morgan, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephew, Funeral service 7:00 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Marshall and Rev. Buddy Cameron officiating. Interment 11:00 am Wednesday in Mitchell Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
