Patsy Lee Guilliams

July 24, 1944 - January 7, 2022

Patsy Lee Guilliams, age 77, of Knoxville, lost her long, courageous battle with cancer on January 7, 2022. Pat loved her family and was devoted to them throughout her life. She will be so missed by all those who loved her, losing Pat is such a painful blow but also a reminder that each of us should live every day of our lives like she tried to. Pat loved the game of golf. She built long lasting friendships with many people that shared her passion for the game. She has a huge, amazing support group of friends. You know who you are. There are not enough words to say the good that Pat was to so many people. She never called attention to herself, but quietly and competently went about her business. Whether it was organizing a golf league or making a hole in one, she just let her actions speak for themselves. She was such a role model to many of us. She was an inspiration during her cancer fight, she continued to play golf during her treatment. If you didn't know she had cancer, let alone taking treatment, you would never have known it. She recently got a hole in one, even with stage 4 cancer looming over her. When  she started having symptoms, she still came out to the course and rode in the cart with her girls. She was a great cheerleader! In addition to raising her three sons, she has achieved many things in her life. She has been an active member of The Executive  Women's Golf Association for many years and received their Carol Harrington Memorial Award in 2010 for her dedication to womens golf.  She loved to take road trips with her girls and play different courses in different parts of the country. Pat was a member of Centennial Golf Club. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Larry Ed Guilliams; daughter-in-law, Patty Guilliams; parents, Claude and Jessie Martin; and sister, Claudette Martin. Pat is survived by her three sons, Aaron Scott, Timothy Wayne and Larry Allen Guilliams, daughter-in-law, Valerie Guilliams; sisters, Lydia Ann Oakley and Sheena Kay Rhea; brothers, David Arthur Martin and Terry Wayne Martin; five grandchildren, and a host of cherished friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Knoxville Area Rescue Mission KARM. A Memorial Golf Tournament in Pats honor will be planned for the spring at Centennial Golf Course.
