Mary Agnes Farmer, age 91, of Jefferson City, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2019. She was a loving mother of two and beloved grandmother of twenty-four. Mary was born on October 27, 1927, in New Market. She was the sixth of thirteen kids. Mary was a member of Mills Springs Baptist Church and had a passion for caregiving. She was employed at Armor Meat Packing Company in Knoxville, Carson Newman College cafeteria, Morristown College cafeteria, Jefferson Elementary School cafeteria and the Wendy’s and Hardees in Sevierville. She was also a independent Mary Kay and Avon sales representative. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Farmer; parents, Rosella and Burt Howard; sisters, Juanita Howard, Georgie (Bill) Sinclair, Beulah (Dick) Caudell, Jenny (Carl) Wolfenbarger, Truela (Sam) Fortner, Roseanne Gregory, Pobbie (Trent) Martin, Maggie Lou Howard; brother, Johnny (Mary) Howard, and son-in-law, Dean M. Sellers. She is survived by her daughters, Mary “Gail” Sellers of Rutledge and Catherine Ann (Herman “Buck”) Slagle of Rutledge, grandchildren, Ricky (Nicole) Sellers, Tony (Sandy) Sellers both of Atlanta, Christal (Jimmy) Warner of Rutledge, and Michael (Charlotte) Slagle of Dandridge; eleven great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertie Watson of Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to special friend, Jennifer Steele and the staffs of Covenant Hospice, Home Health and Fort Sanders Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the the Mill Springs Baptist Church Mowing Fund. Funeral service 4:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Mill Springs Baptist Church, 2510 N. Highway 92, Jefferson City, TN, with Dr. Greg Lindsey and Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Interment 11:00 am Monday in Mill Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
