Gladys Morgan, of Rutledge, after three difficult years, achieved the eternal peace and rest she so deserved on Friday, November 30, 2017, at U.T. Medical Center with her children by her side. She will suffer no more pain, sorrow, or heartache. She now is with her Heavenly Father and husband of 70 years, who she missed dearly, and caregiver, Joyce Hancock, whom she thought of as her daughter. Gladys was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jesse Harold Morgan; parents, Gentry and Eula James West; brothers, Charles, Glen, Harrison, John; sisters, Anna Daniel, Dena McGinnis, Lena Mae West; and caregiver, Joyce Hancock. Gladys is survived by her son, J. Harold Morgan; daughter, Linda (Garry) Dalton, grandson, Jimmy Harold Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. Gladys would like to extend a special thank you to her beloved friends, Anna Jean Cabbage, Joyce Baker, Shirley Fortner, Ralph Maggard, Rev. J.C. Morgan, and her extended family and friends of God’s Little Mission. Pallbearer honors will be provided by Charles McGaha, David Stalsworth, Leon Fortner, Shawn Smith, James West and Ronnie West. Funeral service 8:00 PM Friday, December 8, 2017, at Fielden Chapel with Rev. J.C. Morgan, Rev. Jack Ritter and Rev. Paul Kyle officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017, in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
