Betty Jean McCampbell, age 80, of New Market went home to be with the Lord on Thursday April 28, 2022. She was a devoted member of Good Hope Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. McCampbell; daughter, Tammy Holbert; parents, Harley and Lena Murray; brothers, Holbert, Bud, Edgar, Hood, Charles, and Doug; sisters, Hazel Leonard, Lois McCampbell, and Charlene Murray. Betty is survived by sons, Steve (Julie) McCampbell and Danny (Tonya) McCampbell; son-in-law, Danny (Angie) Holbert; grandchildren, Chris (Ashlee) McCampbell, Alycia (Andy) Goben, Marshine Grant, Shayona Mitchell, Savannah McCloud, and Chuck Robinson; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Aaliyah Goben, brother, June Murray; sister, Bonnie Whittaker; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor James, Lori, Leslie, Beth, and all those at Smokey Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their love and care for Mammaw during her illness. Graveside service 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Trent officiating. Mrs. McCampbell will lie-in-state on Monday from 12:00 - 4:30 pm at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
