Leroy Manns Jr.

Leroy Manns Jr. was born on July 19, 1962 to the late Drucilla and Leroy Manns Sr. in Detroit, Mi. and was the eldest of seven children. Roy as he was affectionately called loved life and all that it had to give. He lived life as he saw fit. His life had its ups and downs, but he knew just how to roll with the punches. Leroy was a laborer throughout the years and had a work history that included truck driving, tending to farms, and most of all spreading laughter and joy to most he encountered. Leroy attended Charles F. Kettering H.S. in Detroit, Mi prior to later relocating to Jefferson City, Tennessee where he would make Morristown, Tennessee his final place of residency. Leroy was never one to stay still. He enjoyed fishing tremendously. He also loved celebrating life and had an extensive wardrobe that he kept intact! He was a beloved father to five daughters by way of Tennessee and one son of Detroit, Mi. After living an eventful life, God saw that his son was tired and called him home so he could rest. Although unexpected his children and grandchildren rest in knowing he transitioned peacefully asleep. Leroy departed this life on May 30, 2021 at his home. Leroy’s mother Drucilla, father Leroy “Roy”, and brother DeWayne Manns preceded him in death. He leaves behind so many who will truly miss him. His six children Deshaun Donald (wife Narissa) of Detroit, Mi., Domonique French (husband J.T.), Skylar Hughes, Jada, Diana, and Jaliyah Manns and three granddaughters. Four brothers Keith, Kevin, Lawrence, Terrence, and one sister Duana Manns along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Message To My Family “When God Calls Me Home.” When God calls me home know that I am not alone. When God calls me home know that it’s okay to cry a song. When God calls me home you must carry on. When God calls me home for my children and family, you must remain strong. When God calls me home, grieve and let our memories live on. When God calls me home know that I am near even though it may seem I’m gone. When God calls me home for me you must live in joy and live on. Daddy A loss so great, it cannot be explained. Daddy you were here that morning and gone that night. So sudden was a call of your passing. You were taken unexpectedly and suddenly without a chance for us to say goodbye. Memories we had of you are strong and alive because you are special and will remain forever in our hearts and prayers. The years of joy & happiness with you will be treasured for always. We miss you so very much. We pray that you had a safe journey and know that you now watch over us. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you. Your Children
