Jeffery Glenn Looney

Jeffery Glenn Looney passed peacefully from this world on Sunday, February 4, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Jeff attended New Market Elementary and Jefferson Middle School. Many stories were told about how mischievous Jeff was as a boy; he loved to make people laugh. From there, he went on to receive his GED and later a pharmacy tech certification from Walter’s State. He worked many years with his father doing skilled carpentry work and remodeling. This was a time he fondly recalled. He later became manager at a retail store. He also worked at Rich’s for a time decorating cakes and his love and skills for that carried over to decorating two beautiful cakes for his niece’s wedding in 2014. Jeffery will always be remembered for his natural ability to make people feel incredibly loved. His kind spirit and unfaltering love will live on in those he leaves behind. There will be an empty space in his family’s hearts, and gathered at the Sunday dinner table, until we all get together again in that sweet By-and-By. May the circle be unbroken. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Georgia and Lawrence Byrd and Alta and Robert Looney; aunts, Mary Byrd Slover and Brenda Sutton; and uncles, Gary Looney and Eddie Byrd. He leaves behind two loving parents, Frank and Sharon Looney; sisters who always called their brother “protector”, Julie (Brian) Rector and Lisa Stuart; nieces and a nephew who loved their uncle so dearly, Mary Beth (Paul) Day, Blake Ballinger (Emily Robertson) and Makayla Stuart. His soulmate of 28 years, Ray Russell, who was by this side with unconditional love until the end. Jeffery also leaves behind a special niece and nephew, Meleah and M.J. whom he loved and helped look after for many special years. He leaves behind uncles, Bennie Byrd, Lonnie Byrd, Roger Byrd, Bobby Looney; aunt, Earlene Farrow; and many special cousins. Funeral service 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Mill Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Lindsey officiating. Interment 2:00 PM Thursday in Mills Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
